SENIOR DINING CENTERS
The purpose of the dining center program is to promote better health among the senior segment of the population through improved nutrition and the opportunity to gather socially with other senior citizens.  There are no fees for services; however, we do request donations based on your income.

ELIGIBILITY
Anyone can participate who is 60 and over.  Persons under 60 may participate with an eligible spouse.  SNS provides this meal for seniors who find it difficult to shop and prepare meals for one or two, or desire to have one well-balance meal provided for them.

When you visit a dining center it is necessary for Senior Nutrition Services to ask you for some information.  This information is confidential and is used only to help Senior Nutrition Services in continuing to address the needs of seniors in this region, and to assist you in accessing other services.  Should you choose not to supply Senior Nutrition Services with this information, you will not be refused the service.

TO RESERVE OR CANCEL YOUR MEAL
To reserve your meal please call your local dining center two days in advance.  Contact Senior Nutrition Services, at 1-800-722-5392 (in Michigan) or (269) 925-0137 or the nearest site listed below.  Walk-ins can participate but may only be served after those who have pre-registered, if a meal is available.

Senior Nutrition Services understands, on occasion, you may be unable to come into the meal site where you have a meal reservation.  If such an emergency arises, please call your site manager or our main office at 1-800-722-5392 (in Michigan) or (269) 925-0137 to cancel your meal AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!  We must have 24 hours prior to the morning of your absence to cancel the meal at the kitchen, or we must pay for that meal.  CARRYING LEFTOVERS OR FOOD OUT OF THE CONGREGATE DINING CENTER IS PROHIBITED.

ACTIVITIES
Some seniors enjoy coming to the dining centers to meet and greet fellow neighbors and friends.  Hence, Senior Nutrition Services provides an environment promoting food and friendship.

Often local professionals may visit the dining center and speak on important and timely topics regarding health, safety, nutrition and consumerism.

Each center maintains its own calendar of activities.  To find out about a specific schedule of activities, call the senior center location in which you are interested.
